Interview with TAIWAZ

We had a conversation with Robert Johansson (Guitars). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

1. Tell us a few things about TAIWAZ (Members, Starting Year etc).

It all started in 1984, me, Urban and former guitarist Björn were playing together in an other band and wanted to play another kind of heavy music so we started Taiwaz. After a long break (1991-2013) we decided to start again. From a few years ago we have two new members Daniel (guitar) and Daniel (drums).

2. You have recently released your new album ''The Uninvited Guest''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?

The feedback is good, I think it`s just need some more promotion, we working on it.

3. Label or DIY and why?

Depending on the label.4. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

I think all of them is OK, it depends what the listener like, but for me vinyl is more the real thing.

5. Your music style is Doom Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

 We all have bands like Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Pantera, Alice Cooper, Mercyful fate as favorite bands they all inspires us in different ways.

6. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

You don't have to sacrifice anything, I think it`s a bless to play in a band, no.

7. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

All live shows are the ideal gig, I don`t now.8. Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

A big heart for heavy music.

9. Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

Yes, I think it`s more easy to reach listeners all over the world.

10. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Sweden(Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

Hard to answer, everything comes and goes all the time.11. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

Some of our best friends plays in black/death metal bands.

12. What are your future plans?

We are setting up gigs and tour for 2020, and works on new heavy stuff for the next album.
