The French Black/Death Metal band HEXEKRATION RITES return after their last 2024 release - the 7" single titled ''Gathering the Disciples'' - with their first full-length album, ''Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance''. Released by the dynamic and highly productive label Godz Ov War Productions (a big shout-out to Greg for the incredible work he’s done with his label!), this album marks a significant milestone for the band. HEXEKRATION RITES are a killer trio (I’ve always believed that trios tend to produce powerful and aggressive music - power trio!) featuring C.S. on guitars, H.R. Arkyon on bass and vocals, and Aryth on drums. The first thing that caught my attention about this CD wasn’t just the superb packaging, but the album cover. Simple and minimal, yet dark, threatening, and aggressive - created by French artist Chris Moyen, who has designed artwork for countless bands since the early '90s, especially within the extreme metal scene. The album was released on April 25th, 2025, and contains 9 tracks of abyssal Black/Death Metal. It opens with “Ouverture,” a pompous intro that immediately sets the mood for the dark and infernal soundscape HEXEKRATION RITES deliver. From there, it launches into “The Grimoire of Insanity”  - demonic and dissonant riffs explode from the speakers, backed by technical, hellish drumming, relentless double-kick patterns, and rapid blast beats. The album continues to unleash its infernal Black/Death Metal assault with tracks like “The Seal of Annihilation,” “Apocalyptic Sermon” (with twisted guitar riffs that make your head bang uncontrollably!), “Revealing the Transcendent Fury,” “Bestial Rites of Doom,” and “Canticle for Primal Absolution,” each one a bloody metallic onslaught. The downtuned guitars combined with the distorted bass add an extra level of sheer destruction. The album’s final two tracks, “The Last Priest of Damnation” and “Disciple,” are phenomenal. Especially the section in “The Last Priest of Damnation” where only the bass and drums play -  it’s so twisted and diabolical, it feels truly Satanic! “Disciple,” which closes the album, sounds like a steamroller crushing everything in its path. Brutal and demonic vocals send you straight to hell - and then back again! The album ''Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance'' will lead you down some extremely dark paths, where you’ll discover unholy darkness through HEXEKRATION RITES’ devilish compositions. The album is available in all physical formats (vinyl, CD, and cassette) through Godz Ov War Productions. Fans of extreme Black/Death Metal will absolutely love this record!
