The best and most suitable time to listen to the new release by HESSIAN is after 1:00 a.m., when everyone in the neighborhood has laid down, exhausted from their intense and tiring day, and has fallen asleep on their sweet, soft pillow. That's when I blast “Decades Of Desolation In The Underworld Of Darkness” at volume level 11 and not 10...hahaha. Absolutely perfect for the night!!! Torrential, infernal, and full of hatred - pure, raw, cold black metal coming straight from Atlanta, Georgia, USA! The story of HESSIAN begins back in 2002 under the name MADAME DURANT. A year later, they changed their name to UTUK XUL COMMANDS WORSHIP, and in 2016, they became what we know them as today: HESSIAN. So what do we have here? My necro-brother Danihell from the murderous label Murder Records (Hail Danihell!!!) sent me a big, killer package full of his exquisite new releases. Among them is the brand new compilation from HESSIAN, with the supreme title “Decades Of Desolation In The Underworld Of Darkness.” The official release date is today, but thanks to my brother Daniel, I had the chance to listen to it and step into the demonic world of HESSIAN before all of you… hahahaha!!! The compilation contains 18 tracks of raw black metal, misanthropic, barbaric, and demonic. Various recordings from 2002 up until today, 2025 - live rehearsals, raw and unpolished black metal without any glossy, weak-sounding production. Here we have songs that are true black metal, possessed, straight from the swamp. A threatening, suffocating, and blasphemous atmosphere with outbursts and savage screams that take you straight to the dark abyss. As I mentioned above, what you’ll hear and feel here is raw black metal, simple, with a punk, street-attitude - the way real black metal should be. Nonconformist, without frills, without polished/clean productions, without well-groomed pretty boys with flawless clean hair standing atop icy mountains - that’s for the fake ones, the posers with their soft perception of the black metal scene. Here we’re dealing only with real & pure hatred, feral and misanthropic playing. All true believers are welcome - weaklings and sentimental soft listeners should stay far away from this release. Go hide in your rabbit holes. The CD is released in a limited edition of 300 copies by Murder Records with co-operation with Southern Soundclash Records and Guts & Blood Records.
