ECASTOR - THIS WAR
Country: Italy
Year: 2025
Label: Murder Records
From the underground depths of Italy, ECASTOR emerge with their explosive debut album “This War”, out now via Murder Records (Hail my necro-brother Danihell!!!) arguably one of the most authentic and blazing labels in the real underground scene. Spearheaded by the ever-dedicated Danihell Slaughter, the label continues its mission to support and amplify true extreme music - not trends, but vision, philosophy, and raw underground aesthetics. ECASTOR’s "This War" is a firm statement, shaking the foundations of the underground Death/Thrash Metal scene with a sound that’s both aggressive and atmospheric. The album consists of nine songs of straight in your face riffs that rip, drums that crush, and vocals that tear through with youthful fury. What’s even more impressive? The band is shockingly young, barely out of their teens, yet they deliver with the precision, energy, and darkness of seasoned veterans. This is the kind of passion that fuels the underground. Check out “Silence”, relentless opener that sets the tone. “Docmicide”, ferocious, with standout lyrics. “Land Of Fire”, ominous and dark, built around a killer riff that nods respectfully to the legendary Mortuary Drape. “This War”, the title track channels the raw, early energy of Megadeth (back when they still meant thrash/speed metal. If you’re like us and lost interest post-1990, this one’s a refreshing throwback). “Enter the Spaceship”, an unexpected but welcome instrumental opener; melodic, spacey, and cinematic. “Outro”, a mysterious, emotional closer that adds a layer of depth and reflection to the album. The production is gritty without being muddy – just how this style should sound. The cover art, crafted by Benedetto Palmaro, is stunning, it evokes the feel of an old master painting, both dark and evocative. The layout and design were handled by A/Crypt from Unholy Dungeon Studios, tying the visual aesthetic perfectly to the sonic violence within. "This War" is really great debut! It’s a full-force assault that proves ECASTOR are not just another new band, they are a force to be reckoned with. They’re hungry, they’re focused, and they’re clearly in this for the long haul. The album is out now in a limited edition CD run of 300 copies via the mighty Murder Records, with official distribution by Hellstore Europe, Southern Soundclash Records, and Guts And Blood Records. If you’re a maniac into Sodom, early Megadeth, Necrodeath, Mortuary Drape, Death, and the raw spirit of the extreme metal underground, you need to give this band a spin. Also, if you want to learn more about ECASTOR, then I recommend you to read an interesting interview that we have with them HERE.
