Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about ECASTOR (Members, Starting Year etc).
The band began in 22 January 2023 and is formed by Dante Brivio (Voice, Guitar), Yuri Bordonali (Voice, Bass), Leonardo Soggia (Guitar), Enea (askios) Galimberti (Drums).
You are going to release your debut album ''This War''. Tell us a few things about the new album.
The concept of the album criticize the society, religion and the atrocity of the war in our present.
The cover artwork has a killer atmosphere! Tell us a few things about it.
The draft was first drawn by Benedetto Palmaro in March of 2023. However the album’s cover was drawn from zero by A/Crypt from Unholydungeonstudy. The cover represent the horror of war where the humans are destroyed by violence.
And what about the lyrics?
The lyrics comes from different sources, like literature, videogames, attuality and news reports.
How did your cooperation with Murder Records occur? What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
We’ve known Murder Records from Social Network and we prefer having the label because help us promoting and distributing our music.
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
When we were recording our album, there was a duck shaped lamp that turned on and off with every vibration of our playing.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We prefer CDs because they are the best and cheapest way to collect music.
Your music style is Thrash/Death Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our main influences are Sodom, Megadeth, Necrodeath, Mortuary Drape, Death, Marty Friedman and Hellripper.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
In order to succeed a band should sacrifice time and have a lot of patience and passions. We enjoy doing It.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Surely an Active public, a good venue, a better sound engineer and a lot of beer.
What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
We’re against AI, because you lose the music experience, the way you play and compose music, killing the originality and humanity of art.
What attributes do you think that a new Thrash/Death Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Not being a rip off of famous bands.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Thrash/Death Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Digital platforms help the underground music spreading around and that is even an ideal way to promote music, in addition to the label.
From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell to a new Thrash/Death Metal band to avoid or what to do?
Break the mold and be unique.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Italy (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There’s a very strong underground scene with high and low.
What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
A way to escape from reality to express ourself and out art. The 10 albums which run in our veins:
