Interview with SAVAGE BLADE

!!!VICIOUS SPEED METAL FROM THE USA!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about SAVAGE BLADE (Members, Starting Year etc).
We started as a glam and punk band in 2021 under the name twisted roses as time went on nothing happened until last year when we decided to drop the bullshit glam thing to go more heavier into thrash now we are a mix of speed metal, Classic Heavy Metal, First Wave Black Metal and Thrash Metal. Our members currently are Alejandro “Annihilator” on guitar, E.c “Executioner” on drums and me (Joey “Witchfinder”) on bass and vocals

You have recently released your demo ''Phantoms Death''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Haven’t heard People talk about phantoms breath yet probably because it’s not on streaming services yet but from the people that have they like the new first wave black metal style of it!

Label or DIY and why?
DIY, We wanted to get signed to a record label but after thinking it through we realized it would be better to go under an independent label Cheaper,Faster,Better you know what I mean?

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Not really any weird stories just that Voltage was originally gonna be called move the lighting but thank god we changed it.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
A Vinyl 100 percent ever since I started this band I’ve just imagined about holding my own music in the palm of my hand but now days seems like digital is the way to go to gain notice.

Your music style is Raw Speed/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Definitely bands like Venom, Motörhead, Bathory, Carnivore, Sodom, Slayer, Witchfinder General, Razor, Interceptor, the list goes on.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
Time mostly we’ve been trying to make schedules to do recording for our debut album and shows so we can do them but sometimes we’re all busy but we try and sacrifice time.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
We haven’t done shows yet but what I would want to do is mics raised higher than our heads, Fire when the songs build up, Smoke Machines, Chains, A blood Spitting Effect all types of cool shit.

What attributes do you think that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
We aren’t that big on being different we just make music is the style of our favorite bands, but one thing I will say is put on a good performance on stage don’t be plain go up there and know that your gonna rip the fucking house down but one band I will say kinda stands out is Wildfire they have this good “Blackened Death Thrash Style”!

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
I think Social Media has helped a lot of new bands out like Interceptor, Phantom G.D.L, Wildfire Etc. Especially TikTok but now I realize we need to build up more and not too much on TikTok.

Do you see any differences between the US Metal Market & the EU Metal Market (Labels, Bands, Fans etc)?
Most of the bands in the U.S are more diverse more but mostly dumb Pop Punk and Pop Rock bands but the Europe scene has a pretty good metal scene mostly filled with Thrash and Speed like Maniak, Speeder, Ominous Moon, ASOMVEL,Templar all those guys.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in New Braunfels, Texas (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Nothing at all we’re the only Speed Metal band in New Braunfels but there is one band called WITCHFLESH we’re good friends with them and they are near us they’re great too! The rest of it is in other cities like Austin, and San Antonio.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not a Clue.

The last 4 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange & new situations in our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
COVID-19 really fucked up the world with but not us in a way we didn’t like just not being able to go out.

What are your future plans?
We’re Working on our Debut Album “SAVAGE BLADE” in March and it will be released by early next year and we’ve already written material for a second album, we also wanna do a gulf coast tour but we will see.

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
WE ARE SAVAGE BLADE AND WE’RE READY TO KILL THE NIGHT WITH OUR VICIOUS SPEED METAL MADNESS!”
