Interview with SATANIC PRIEST

!!!BLACK/THRASH METAL FROM EL SALVADOR!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

The last time we talked was almost 4 years ago. It was when you released your demo. Now you are going to release your first full length studio album ''Of Blasphemies & Lust!''. Tell us a few things about this project.

The cover artwork has a great atmosphere! Tell us a few things about it.
The album cover was done by Jenglot Hitam, an illustrator from China who we have worked with for many years with another project we have and whom we greatly admire for his work. The cover is a piece of art that quite encompasses the lyrical and general concept of the band "blasphemies, lust and alcohol." I think the illustration is adequate to generate the visual atmosphere that complements the musical section.

What about the lyrics of the new album?
As I mentioned in the previous point, the band's concept can be summarized in "profanities, alcohol and lust" and the lyrical theme revolves around these topics. The idea of the band is also to pay tribute to the pioneering bands of the genre such as Venom, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Motorhead, etc. and I think we are well on our way down that path of metal in its pure and genuine state.... Praise to Satan!

Recently you have released on your YouTube Channel your new official music video "Metal Attack". Tell us about this experience of making a video clip.
Recording this video was an amazing experience! The single chosen for this video was "Metal Attack" and the video was recorded and edited by Diego Urrutia and his work team "Jack Thomson and Alex Franco" also features the participation of two great friends of ours "Alejandro Paredes" in the performance. and Nelson Castro". The idea or script for the video was an idea from Necroblaster (Drummer) and fortunately the producer (Diego Urrutia) was able to understand us completely and also made his contributions in ideas and talent in the production. We are very happy with the final result since the initial idea was captured quite well and we also believe that the result is more than acceptable in the line that we want to work within this genre, which is Black/Thrash.

How did your cooperation with Vicious Witch Records occur?
Firstly we want to thank Nik from Vicious Witch Records for trusting in our project. We have previously worked with this great label on an edition that was published with another project to which we belong and for approximately a year Nik listened to our first demo and asked us that since he had new material he wanted to listen to it and hoped to work with us. Fortunately, once we managed to finish our album and once it was heard by Nik it was not difficult to reach an agreement and start working. We are really very happy with the work done by both parties but I think Vicious Witch Records represents the true essence of the underground.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Really, whenever we go to record at "La Vispera del Demonio Studios" there are many stories to tell hahaha. In particular, there is no specific one but the best thing about this experience is sharing among friends doing what we like "making metal" "drinking alcohol" and having a good time.

The last 4 years we have faced many dark, strange & new situations with our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) worldwide. Did this situation affect you, positively or negatively?
This situation, like everyone else, affected us, since we formed in 2019 we have only played live 6 times, it has taken us a couple of years to finish recording the album due to different personal issues and activity as a band but I think that The wait has been worth it because we hope not to stop from this point onwards. I think that this covid situation did affect us negatively in that aspect but also in a positive way because it has given us time to be able to work on the album well and to define several things that were necessary to resume the work of the band.

What shall we expect from Satanic Priest in the near future?
More metal! You can expect a great metal download, we plan to record a couple more official videos, it is a topic that we have talked about and we want to publish at least two more videos. We hope to play live more often after the live performance of our album which is scheduled for Saturday August 31, 2024 and of course we will continue working on new music. There are more blasphemies that must be spit out!

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
First of all, thank you very much for the space, we thank all readers for taking the time to read this interview and we want to invite you to listen to the band's album "...Of Blasphemies & Lust!" and to continue paying attention to the band's work. Greetings from HELL Salvador!
