Interview with NUCLEAR REVENGE

!!!MAYHEMIC THRASH METAL FROM SPAIN!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Hi! Thanks a lot for this interview!

Tell us a few things about NUCLEAR REVENGE (Members, Starting Year etc).

Nuclear Revenge started back in 2012, when we were just a bunch of kids. We have some line up changes until now, which the current line up is: Cryptic Aggressor (Vocals/Guitars), Speedhammer (Drums), Pestilence Breeder (Guitars) and Skullreaper (Bass). In that time we have released two demos, a split and our first full length.

In 2018 you have released your album ''Let the Tyrants Rise''. Have you prepared anything new since then?

Yeah! We are preparing our second album which will be out on the first half of this year. Hope we can we give you more details soon!

Label or DIY and why?

If we refer to first works like demos, we prefer to release them in a DIY way, but for other releases it's better to have the help of a label for the distribution and promotion. They can help in making more copies and making your work more accessible.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

Personally I prefer physical formats than digital ones. I don't care if it's on vinyl, tape or CD, but music has to be on one of those formats (or on all of them!). Anyway, digital platforms are a really useful tool for spreading your music.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

As main influences we can mention bands like Kreator, Sodom, Destroyer 666 or Slayer, which those ones are one of our favourite bands. We had the pleasure to play with Destroyer 666 back in 2019.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

Nowadays if you want to succeed you must sound like plastic. If that's what you want, perfect!, but if you want to keep you identity and sound like you really want, then I don't think you will succeed. We try to keep as loyal as we want with our sound, and making things in the way we want, without anyone telling how we should sound.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

Our ideal shows are in small places, full of people and with lots of booze, sharing stage with good bands and partying like hell after the show. For sure we have experienced that, and hope we can make that again soon.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

Just don't try to be another copy/paste band. Try to make things as you want and just try to be yourself. Get some good influences and start making music!

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

Bandcamp it's a really useful tool for spreading your music, so it's Youtube or Spotify, but we don't have to forget about the old way to promote bands like printed fanzines, flyers, webzines or radio shows.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Spain (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

The Spanish Underground Metal Scene is growing bigger and bigger, not only with bands that have huge quality, there are also some Metal Clubs, fanzines and radio shows that promote in the best way possible the metal scene. Some bands to mention will be Intolerance (watch out their new release!), Horripilant or Aeroscreamer. Espectros, MetalCova, Pounding Metal Union or Mediterranean Metal Maniacs help new bands promoting them in their annual festival. If we refer to fanzines, MetalSlavers or Mugre are some ones to mention. Finally, Rock Invasion Radio Show makes an amazing work every Sunday night with new and old tunes from many amazing bands.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

For sure! Some band I like are Slaughter Priest, Necromantia or Omega. I know that there is an important Black Metal Scene there!

What are your future plans?

As I said, we are planning to release our second album, which will be out on the first half of this year. Hope we can get back to normal and get back on the road again for some gigs.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
