Interview with NEKRO CVLT DESECRATION

!!!BLACK/THRASH METAL FROM ARGENTINA!!!

We had a conversation with Seth Nekromancer (Vocals). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about NEKRO CULT DESECRATION (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hails evil allies, thank you very much for allowing me to vomit our blasphemies here in the name of Nekro Cvlt Desecration, well the horde began in 2013 in Venezuela in a state called Zulia where the heat is infernal and it was a night listening to old Metal and alcohol where the idea of making a band where the Metal of the 80s together and the heritage of South American Metal was our black flag was invoked, The next step was to compose what would be our first songs, one of these was "Destructores de todo lo Sagrado" which we always play live, we composed a total of 8 songs and they are the ones found on the debut album "Nekrosatani Alcoholocausto". In 2018 the band decided to emigrate to Argentina and since then we have not rested, playing in various places in South America and Argentina.  Now speaking of the current members of the band they are: Seth Nekromancer: vocals, Goat Destruktor: drums, Nashgot: guitars, and Ereshkigal: bass

In 2024 you have released your split album with BLASPHEMANIAC ''Revenge of South American Bestiality''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
That conspiracy with our brothers Blasphemaniac opened doors for us to Brazil and we know that to other parts of the world, the truth has had a great reception since we know that it is being distributed in several places in Latin America and Europe and we receive messages and comments that have obtained a copy of this blasphemy where we wanted to pay homage to our Extreme Roots of South American Metal.

You are going to release your second album "Purification In The Witchcraft Flames". Tell us a few things about this Project.
Well we started to compose this album in the middle of last year and in December we entered the recording studio, in April of this year we had it finished recorded and mastered, in terms of the songs this album is a little more varied than we have done in the past although the base of influence is the same we put more emphasis on the guitar solos, we included rototons on the drums, the vocals with just a bit of reverb and delay effect, the bass with a good presence and in terms of sound we tried to make the result as organic as possible without any digital retouching. As for the cover art, we worked again with Darkpen Illustrations with whom we had already worked on the cover of the split with Blasphemaniac and once again he blew our minds with the way he understood everything we wanted for the album.

Label or DIY and why?
I tell you that much of our philosophy is under the precept "Do it yourself" but when it comes to editions we like that the underground labels work with us since we know that many people have as a work and life method distributing and editing bands.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Oh man, we have a lot of crazy things that have happened to us, one to tell was that when we released the video "Culto de Desecracion" about 8 years ago we included shots of some graves that we had desecrated in a local cemetery, then the news that several graves in the cemetery had been vandalized ran through the local newspapers and radio stations and we had to hide for several months since we were the main suspects in this, another fact was that the band's first guitarist was in prison for a week accused of carrying war weapons because his bullet belt was with high caliber bullets and they weren't fired, thanks to a lawyer friend and family he was able to get out of jail, another fact was that I had an accident on my knee and I tore my ligaments and in the days before the operation we recorded the video Diabolikal Alcohol Possession, so you may find some images with the crutches haha.. When we traveled from Brazil to Paraguay about two years ago, we were on a bus whose shock absorbers had broken and it was a seven-hour hurdle of jumping and moshing inside the bus haha.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I have been a Metalcollector for as long as I can remember and I will always prefer physical material and the order would be vinyl, CD and tape.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Speaking of my main influence I'll tell you that it is and always will be BATHORY... the early years of Quorthon have always been my greatest influence. Now in the band we mix various tastes and genres, for example, we like the dark and satanic heavy metal of the 80s, we also like the German thrash school of the 80s, another band that runs through our veins like poison is Sarcofago along with Holocausto and Sextrash, we also listen to Hellhammer and Celtic Frost without forgetting the old Darkthrone and Mercyful Fate.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I don't know if the right word would be triumph since we belong to the underground and we like to be on the side of what is true and real, but we do like to feel that satisfaction when we manage to release an album and play in other latitudes and be able to share with Metal maniacs from different places. As for the sacrifices, yes, I have made them. I am 8,000 kilometers away from where I was born and there I left my family, especially my daughter, my old friends and one of my music collections... but everything has been worth the effort. Since NCD arrived in Argentina the band has been able to continue playing, recording and traveling. This effort is made by all of us in the band since we work to make this possible and we continue forward with a will of metal despite the obstacles that to be honest are nothing compared to the obstacles the band had under the yoke of the Iron Curtain.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Yes, we've had great experiences with live rituals. When we were in Montevideo Uruguay the had a very bestial attitude . Also, when we were in Bucaramanga Colombia years ago, it was total chaos, the ritual was face-to-face and everything was flying through the air. There was a lot of alcohol and chaos that cold night. That's what we seek to awaken the euphoria in the audience. We like to see brains blown out, because we do it every time we step on stage, and for the night to be under the Satanic cloak of alcohol and chaos.

What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
It's bullshit man. We are the resistance and we are against Skynet (haha). Bands that agree to do their work with the help of AI whether as a complement to music or cover art don't deserve respect even if they are legendary bands. Metal is what it is and will continue to be what it should be: an amorphous, bastard, antagonistic being that fights against everything and everyone! Artificial intelligence, fuck off!!!

What attributes do you think that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think you answered the same question, bands should be authentic without denying their influences but not copying, on the contrary it is about creating their own identity working on their sound and what they want to transmit and capture in their music and on stage. Personally I like the "chakality" that we inherited from the South American scene of the 80s and bringing it back to these days where many bands want to sound perfect with those full trigger drums and thousand dollar guitars.. NO!!! Part of our mentality is "less is more" and we make black noise with what we have, the rest is satanic attitude and iron will!!

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Well it's a matter of perspective, I come from other times, I started listening to metal in the late 80s and the CD was already powerful compared to other formats, at that time you thought that the CD was a sacrilege against the tape and vinyl, then the internet arrived and thanks to the internet you could see the first pages of metal bands and you could make the first purchases of material online, also let's not forget that it was and is an informative complement along with fanzines and magazines, years later already in the 2000s myspace burst onto the scene and from there bands began to massively use this medium to show their music, I think that this platform was one of the best although I think I may say it with some nostalgia since it was something new and personally I spent many hours listening to music and looking for information about the bands and it's all about the utilitarian sense that is given to the platforms and social networks, I know of well-known and underground bands that handled their music very well and seriously and Merchandise on MySpace and some of those bands you see their social media now and they're a joke... I don't want to say that things were more real before, I think it also depends on the development tools the platform gives you and how the bands handle said platform. We try to alternate everything between the physical world and the virtual world although our preference and conviction are outside of social media!

From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell to a new Black/Thrash Metal band to avoid or what to do?
First of all, they should have their own identity and not copy anyone... obviously without denying influences but being themselves as I said above, another important thing is to have a will of steel that goes against everything, there are thousands of obstacles in today's world and practically everything seeks to tame the creative will and freedom... I would also tell them not to waste time with members who do not share the same musical vision and ideology as the group, those people are burdens on the road and the most important thing of all is to be a damn compulsive consumer of metal in all formats... you have to always feed that hunger to listen and discover underground bands... remember something: "Hate creates and love is for hippies..."

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Argentina  (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Argentina is the land of Heavy Metal and that is something that many already know, the country has a rich history of national Heavy Metal and extreme festivals of the past and present with legendary bands that marked the identity of old and new metalheads, there have been emblematic places such as Cemento, a place where many national and international bands played, I personally was able to visit another iconic place such as Museo Rock where I could see Bulldozer among other cult bands, as for fanzines and magazines, yes, there are for example you have Metalica fanzine that is more oriented towards heavy and thrash metal or Metal Negro fanzine that is oriented towards Black Metal or my fanzine Necromancy that I was able to edit a release on Argentine soil. The underground here does not differ much from the underground of other latitudes, there are bands of all styles, radios, organizers, several good others bad, good places to play, etc.

What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
Metal made me the maniak I am today. I live for metal, I work for metal, and I think it will be like this until I'm eaten by worms. This top may change next week but Bathory is always on top haha
1. Bathory - Bathory
2- Bathory - The return of Darkness and evil
3- Sarcofago - INRI
4- Holocausto - Campo de exterminio
5- Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
6- Venom - Welcome to hell
7- Stormwitch - Walpurgis night
8- Mercyful Fate - Don't break the oath
9- Root - Zjevení
10- Slayer - Show no mercy

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Oh man, this is one of the old scenes from the nineties that I also enjoy a lot, along with the Polish and the Scandinavian scene. That beastly triumvirate of Necromantia, Rotting Christ, and Varathron is present every so often in my CD list to listen to. By the way, I was recently able to see Absu live and you can already imagine my excitement when the Zemial brothers delighted us with a set of songs from their Sleeping in the Tartarus and For the Glory of Ur... uff it was a mind-blowing performance. This has been one of the best concerts of my life since I never thought I would see Zemial live. By the way, something amazing was sharing a short conversation with Dorian and having him sign my Agatus and Varathron albums. It was very meaningful to me.

What are your future plans?
With the release of our new album we will be playing in several countries in South America, Chile is already confirmed and if all goes well we will be in February 2026 at the Chiloe Metal Fest, we also have planned to play again in Brazil with our brothers from Blasphemaniac, we are also in talks to play in Paraguay again and resume the tour that we left pending a year ago in Colombia. I'm taking this opportunity to give you a scoop: with the release of our new album we'll be launching our new video clip featuring one of our new songs... so expect lots of fire, blasphemies, and decapitated crosses!!

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you so much for this entertaining interview. I send a big hails to everyone on the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine team I also want to thank all the true maniacs who have supported us over the years! Keep going strong, consuming metal and sodomizing nuns... NEVER STOP THE MADNESS!!
