Interview with KRUSHHAMMER

!!!BLACK/THRASH METAL FROM BRAZIL!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about KRUSHHAMMER (Members, Starting Year etc).
The project began to be conceived in mid-2016, with friends Bruno (guitar) and Marcelo (vocal). Over time we got to know the other members: Lucas (guitar), Philippe (drums) and Alberth (bass) who completed the formation of the release of the EP "Speed Blacking Hell".

In 2019 you have released your EP ''Speed Blacking Hell''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
It was an EP that pleased the whole audience. There was a good repercussion in the digital media and in the world underground scene. Unfortunately, the physical media was only in our region, because we did everything independently and with few copies. Unfortunately, the costs end up being high for works launched independently, here in Brazil.Label or DIY and why?
Both have pros and cons. But referring to our released EP and the Full Length, almost ready, we prefer it independently. We chose not to leave our work in the hands of interested parties, to shape our sound and our ideals, and we launched our own way.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I think they are all extremely important. To release on vinyl I believe it is the dream of all bands. It's cult! (laughs). The digital media reaches everyone much more easily and helps a lot in promoting the bands.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Sodom, Desaster, Destroyer 666, Omega, Deathhammer, Cruel Force & Toxic Holocaust, etc.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
The most difficult thing is for everyone to have time and share the same ideals. As there were five of us, it was sometimes very difficult. We even gave up a few times, but then we let it flow in time, without pressure, and it ended up going as it should.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
It would be a show with a good audience and with structure for the band's presentation. We are close to that. Once we had an excellent structure, but because we are a beginner band we had a bad time at a festival and we performed at 6 am, with very few people in the audience. But we play with the same greed as always!Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Creativity, dedication and patience. Although there are many bands there is always a new band that surprises everyone.

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Digital platforms help everyone to know the sound. The internet, without a doubt, is the best means of promotion for any band.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Brazil (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We noticed that, from time to time, the scene is updated with new bands, but the number of Fanzines is decreasing. What still persists are the Webzines and we see, nowadays, some that have established themselves for years, such as: Crush the Cross Zine, which still has the printed form and the Sepulcral Voice (Webzine), are examples of resistance. There are a minority of places in our region that support us where we organize events and play together with part of the bands (Nuclear Screams, Payback, Bloody Vomit, Vultör, Ignorance, Abasbaron, Scalped, Mata-Borrão, Dunkell Reiter, Factor Kill , etc.) of the regional underground scene. Usually, concert halls choose bands that play covers, in which the audience will be more massive, where the focus really is on the profit with value of entry and not on exposing the cultural expression itself. But so we went on to new places and with new bands, others not so much, maintaining the underground metal resistance.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We know Omega, Ravencult, Slaughtered Priest who are also our influences and Varathron.

What are your future plans?
Launch our first full length that is almost ready and think about a new material.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
We appreciate the opportunity to share a little bit of our story with you, Filthy Dogs of Metal, and your readers!
Follow us on social media!A big hug and maybe, someday, we'll meet there in Greece! Cheers!
