Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about GAM (Members, Starting Year etc).
We are four mates who started playing back in 2011 under the name Vulture which we later changed to GAM. None of us had any experience creating this style of music back when we started.

You are going to release your new EP ''Iron Gauntlet''. Tell us a few this about this project.
Throughout the years our style has naturally evolved from more of an old school death metal sound to a fusion between black metal and death metal without compromising the brutality. Iron Gauntlet showcases this development in our style.

And what about the lyrics?
The lyrics tend to focus on occultism, chaos, hatred and death.

Are you searching for a record label? What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
Thus far we have released it ourselves, seeing that we are a bunch of lazy fucks the distribution by a record label would be of great help. We make music, not marketing.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
During one  of our recording sessions we had too much of the good stuff and it ended in disaster with most of us falling asleep and the one standing being absolutely shitfaced. Let's just say the studio engineer wasn't too happy about it.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Not a huge deal but of course a physical record is preferable. Though the drummer is a CD collector and the guitarist a vinyl collector.

Your music style is Blackened Death Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Asphyx, Deicide, Immortal and Belphegor.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
The one thing we have sacrificed is time. You have to prioritize the music and hence, sacrifice something else in order to rehearse etcetera. 

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
An ideal show would be more of a ritual than a performance.

What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
It sucks. Generic “music” for the masses.

What attributes do you think that a new Death Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Try to find your own niche and don't sound like everybody else.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Death Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
We don't bother with any digital platform really so it's hard to tell.

From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell a new Death Metal band to avoid or what to do?
Do the opposite of what we have done. Begin with having all the members living in the same country for a start, be active on social/digital platforms and be ready to invest more time than you think.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Sweden (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There seems to be an upswing in the metal scene among the younger generation, in the last decade or so there's been a downfall in the scene including a lack of venues, zines and active bands. Hopefully this trend is changing.

What does Metal mean to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
Metal means deliverance. Some good albums without any internal order:

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not too familiar with the scene apart from Rotting Christ and Impure Worship.

What are your future plans?
We are currently working on new material for a full-length album.
