Interview CADAVEROUS NIGHT

!!!BLACK/SPEED METAL FROM FINLAND!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about CADAVEROUS NIGHT (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hello Filthy Dogs of Metal, thank you for having us on your webzibe! Cadaverous Night is a four-piece band from eastern part of Finland, Joensuu to be precise. Line-up consist of Jesse on drums, Arno on guitars/bass and Weke doing guitars and vocals. After releasing our demo we were joined by another Jesse taking up bass duties and making us a four-piece. We started on second half of 2020 and just finished our first release "Demo I"!

You have recently released your demo ''Demo I''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
Things are still quite fresh but we have had some positive feedback and few contacts about the release. Something should be coming out on printed media as well so it is just fine, keep the feedback coming in!

Label or DIY and why?
A good label is great for promotion and resources for sure but I think you can get your music out there quite nicely with DIY nowadays as well, it's just how to get your stuff heard. So do it yourself with what you've got, rock on, and see what happens!

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Digital is more convenient format for sure but I prefer to get my records mainly on vinyl. With bigger artwork and inserts it does add some special feel to it. And some records sounds better on vinyl!

Your music style is Black/Speed Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Mostly old school metal in general but there's too many to mention just few, so anything not faceless and and with pure metal feeling on it will do the trick!

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
A lot of time and money over the years. Cadaverous Night is a fresh band but all the members have played music for quite sometime already. So that's it pretty much if you consider that as a sacrifice!

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Nope, not yet. Some filthy little club with metal maniacs and lots of rock 'n roll!

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Speed Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Good music is the most important factor. Of course it helps a lot if you've got something that stands out positively on your sound and make it different and unique. You gotta deliver the right energy!

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Speed Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
I think they are necessary evil, If you can say that, unless you want to stay totally underground! Bandcamp offers quite nice platform where fans can support artists almost directly. Of course If you can get your merch and records directly from bands and artists, that would be preferable.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Finland (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
La Barre is the best venue and you should check out new Maniac Abductor single out soon!

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not too familiar with Hellenic scene to be honest. Rotting Christ and Zemial comes to mind first. I have nice memories of Zemial playing great show in Kuopio back in the day!

What are your future plans?
We are about to start working on new Cadaverous Night songs and hope to release them sooner than later! So stay tuned!

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you very much! Keep supporting underground metal and stay heavy you cadaverous cunts!

By Steve the Filthy Dog.
