FRIGHTFUL is a Death/Thrash metal band from Poland. ''What Lies Ahead'' is their second full-length studio album, released on February 28th, 2025, via Godz Ov War Productions (Hail Greg!!!). FRIGHTFUL had already made their mark on the metal community with their debut album ''Spectral Creator'', so I was confident that their second attack would be even stronger. And I could feel that immediately upon the first listen (I’d say from the very first minute) of ''What Lies Ahead''. From the first notes of the album, you’re hit with a demolition fist right in your face-powerful riffs, killer double bass drumming, and pure, high-energy playing that could blow apart entire blocks! ''What Lies Ahead'' contains 8 tracks filled with violent outbursts and technical passages, combined with cold and dark chords that make for an explosive album. FRIGHTFUL, a nine-year-old band, has honed their skills, and this is evident in their technical compositions, which are packed with passion, speed, aggression, and melodic elements. The vocals of Oskar Wańka (Vocals/Bass) are hellish and full of screams, and alongside his bass playing, he and his comrade behind the drums, Krzysztof Pochranowicz (a true beast on the drum kit!!!!), form a rhythm section that’s solid as fuck. The killer guitar duo, Paweł Snarski and Eryk Jakubczyk, will demonize you with their technical and murderous riffing, making you bang your head until you break your neck.
