In the modern world of information overabundance, you have to dive deep into the musical cesspool of the Web in order to discover "gold" among a plethora of newcoming average bands. As the 24 hours of a day are not enough to listen to all the new releases coming out like an avalanche ready to swallow you, it is helpful to have friends like Filthy Dog who are searching and listening 24/7 and actually do all the dirty job until they trace the worthy ones and present them to you. However, even the full time search of Filthy Dog is not enough to discover everything. So here appears another "Band-Hunter" to help the situation. He is Danihell Slaughter, a dark artist with a cynical consideration of life and the Guru of Extreme Sound. The darkness and cynicism that I mentioned are expressed not only through the art he creates himself but also through the art he promotes via his record label, Murder Records.
What makes Murder Records special to me is the fact that while other labels, logically, try to attract the audience through alluring promotion, Murder Records tries to..."repulse" (haha, I'm joking of course) the audience through shocking promotion : frightening or challenging cover artworks, extreme to hyper-extreme sounds and lethal, aggressive, impactful writing trying altogether to test your limits: if you are too sensitive to stand the bitter and shitty reality, you just don't fit here. In other words, it is not the audience that chooses Murder Records, Murder Records chooses its audience. So, as one of the label's chosen listeners, I decided to write about a new release of Murder Records that I really enjoyed among its other top ones:
"Bestial Rites of Morbid Lust" is the Killer Title of the Killer Split that was released on 6. June 2025 in Cassette limited to 100 copies, where BLASFEMATOR from Greece join forces with SEPULCRAL from Colombia. Not only the kick-ass artwork that would make a terrific wall poster in larger dimensions but also both bands' powerful, "dangerous" photos prepared me from the very start that I was going to listen to good stuff.
BLASFEMATOR: The band from Greece attacks with two Black Thrash Metal tracks. Both sound old, raw and evil. These are the ideal sounds in order to create the mystical atmosphere that the Rites described in the lyrics of the two songs demand. The catchy unholy melodies of "Diabolik Incarnation" aggressively penetrated into my mind and remained stuck on it since the first time I listened to it. Fucking awesome track! After listening to such a captivating demonic composition I am quite sure that the creators of the song "drank the sacrificial blood to seal... some...unholy pact" indeed...The second track "Morbid Lust" keeps the same levels of rawness and evilness and is a second evidence for me that BLASFEMATOR has great potential as a band. I would be very interested for sure to listen to any possible future material of them. Great stuff!
SEPULCRAL: What the hell is happening in Latin America and it raises so many tough guys? This band from Colombia is so hellishly badass that after listening to their three black death metal tracks of the split I felt like I lost my virginity once again. To my surprise I found out after listening to them that they include unholy lyrics as well. Until that time I thought that the vocals where just shouts from Hell and screams of an evil tormentor perfectly matched to the satanic sounds of the band, where every member seems to play in a state of a demonic ecstasy. The SEPULCRAL section begins with the slow but sick introduction of "Bestial Rape", a song that later on develops into a steamroller due to the crazy performance of the band that strikes without mercy. "WarGoat Ritval" and "Conquerors Of The Black Oath", powerful as well, are played in a similar state of diabolic madness. Hellishly good stuff!
To make a long story short, the split "Bestial Rites of Morbid Lust" kicks ass. You will definitely love it! But remember: together with the cassette take some little branches of basil and a bottle of holy water from the nearest chapel and put them near your bed, as the demons that will move to your house after you play the cassette can be very noisy and annoying during the night sleeping hours...
