Interview with PUNISHER

!!!COLOMBIAN THRASH METAL!!!

We had a conversation with Chris Thunderfist (Vocals / Bass). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

1. Tell us a few things about PUNISHER (Members, Starting Year etc).

Hi Filthy Dogs Of Metal Webzine.
This is Chris Thunderfist (Vocals/Bass Guitar) from PUNISHER.
PUNISHER born in Bogota on 2007 the idea of a Thrash/Speed Metal band were by me and Juan Calderon(Guitars) since 2018 Ricardo (a.k.a. TONO) Valencia get into the drums.

2. You are playing Speed Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

Well, we are inspired in the classic sounds.
We are very influenced by Traditional Heavy Metal, Speed Metal and Thrash Metal as American style artists as Colin Kimberley, Graeme English, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore, John Bonham, Dan Behler and many more.

3. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

Always you will want to see your job captured in a shield,  tape is a good way to distribute your stuff also CD and vinyl is a dream.

4. Label or DIY and why?

Label actually make your production very expensive. We are employeed men and when you have extra expensives pay for a Do It Yourself production it could take more time for get that rehearsal. It depends too for the agreement with the label.

5. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

Our ideal show is where the people get fun, if you play for 10 people or a million of people they deserve a killer show.
We really enjoy connect with all friends who pay a ticket to see a PUNISHER's show. All shows that where we had been played have a special dye. We are waiting for more shows with that feature.

6. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Thrash Metal Colombian Scene.

Thrash Metal Underground Scene is very demanding.
There are a emergent movement where you can find 5 or 6 shows in the same night with a killer crew of bands playing,
by the other hand continuous the free concerts on demand makes that the crowd that you are expecting for your show don't arrive but nevertheless we have support and it makes that our job grow and we think in working harder.

7. How is the situation in Colombia as far as Studio Recordings / Rehearsal Rooms etc. are concerned?

About studio recordings in Colombia pay for a good Rehearsal is very expensive if you want release a clean piece as opposed to Europe or North America and some countries of South America Colombia have a lack in rehearsals.
I'm not saying all the stuff from the bands of my country sucks, to the contrary, there are bands that with their effort have adquired their recording tools and the result is a masterpiece furthermore there are
studio recordings with magnificent amps, drums and things that you don't expect find there but honestly.
We need to work more for high quality Rehearsals.

8. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

One of the first thing as a band you sacrifice is the time with your family, on a personal basis if you have band you are in a constant improving, jam with the guys is very important, the feeling with you are playing your stuff with them.
The idea that you want express with your band, I can stand at home making absolutely nothing but if I reach an idea at 2:00am sure
I get up sometimes for writing or make a riff.
Also the shows if you have a plan with your family but you are hired for a show you should move the date of that plan, finally I try that the time of PUNISHER don't interpose with family time however our families support all plans for PUNISHER.

9. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene? Any Greek Band that you like?

Sure, I hope so Hellas Metal is wonderful for example Rotting Christ, Varathon, Flames, Crucifier, Thou Art Lord, Soulskinner and many more bands

10. What are the Future plans of PUNISHER.

We are working in our first EP. We hope it will be out on September. There are some gigs in our city and we are waiting for more gigs out of Bogota. PUNISHER is keep on working for Colombian Metal and also very proud for the support for that. We had receive.
