!!!DEATH/THRASH METAL FROM MEXICO!!!
Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about ERADICATION (Members, Starting Year etc).
Eradication was born at 2016 under the name Warcrime like our first E.P like every band we starting with covers from Sodom Tankard Slayer Overkill and Anthrax totally at thrash bay area school and some of the Teutonic thrash metal school, but the years comes and the band grow up and change members. First, we were 5 guys:
Necro Edder on vocals
Jose Pablo Martines on Bass
Roy on drums
Alan Rojas on lead guitar
And Angel Rivera rhythm guitar
After 9 year the name and the members was change it for only 4 guys:
Necro Edder on bass and vocals
Alan on lead guitar
Manuel Garcia on rhythm guitar
Ismael on Drums this was the line up on the recording of the first E.P
One year later Manuel leave the band and a new member on the rhythm guitar is taking his place, his name is Saul with the influence on DEATH by Chuck Schuldiner, and them the band still working with new material, more like old school death metal with the same influence on thrash metal.
In 2023 you have released your EP ''Warcrime''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The first year when we released that E.p the audience doesn’t take importance but now, we get more audience on Mexico and some fans around of the world and its a big pleasure to us see that, cause we never thing that our music was listen at other country’s.
The cover artwork has a killer atmosphere! Tell us a few things about it.
Yes, it’s a pleasure for us, this artwork is for the first part for the end of the humanity when the people corrupted in his own chaos takes the city and destroy everything around of him, the first idea from us, it was only a city under a chaos and destruction but our artist, gives more about the first idea, they creates the zombie or humanoid, the strange guy in the middle of the artwork, we only gives more ideas, so Tony our artist send this zombie with an armor and other things that we don’t like it, but we love the idea that the zombie or this guy was more horrible, more humanoid with a leper, cause they shows the ends of the people on the city, and the human chaos, they represents the must horrible part of the people when the chaos or destruction comes to his city, that’s the reason why this humanoid was burn, and we love the final idea cause it represents all that we like to show in our lyrics and shows.
And what about the lyrics?
The lyrics is the representation for the must terrible ideas from human race, bring on the most popular human issue “war” “destruction” early the popular beliefs in Mexico like Jesus Christ and The Virgin Maria cause our vocalist is against religion and they put his ideas from the humanity against God Or Jesus how is a Parishioner with all his devotion and suffer, so they write the song or the lyric God Send us to die, with this intetion that the Parishioner talk at god to know more about this suffer in the land, and why they don’t gives an answer from the human prayers, that’s another part from the lyrics, the third part is about a mental disorders cause our singer is a psychologist and they know a lot of information for the mental disorders, so in summary, we try to explain more for the human devastation and a possible apocalypse or human devastation.
Label or DIY and why?
First, we have the idea make it at DIY but our singer starts to talk with a lot of labels here on Mexico, send e-mails, inbox and message, juts one answer us, that is Mexican Steel Prods, with that label we get our First physical CD and if you go at our Instagram, we have pinned our CD on the top of the list, you can view.
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
There are many stories, since our vocalist has the bad luck that something always happens to him, or he is about to be arrested for urinating in the street, or he falls in a place where there is no visible floor, or he is bitten by red ants, he always has a very strange and funny attraction for the unexpected.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We prefer the two types CD and digital, cause in this technologic era we need to get an adaptation for the streaming platforms and those things.
Your music style is Death/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
We had the influences on the old-school death metal like Obituary, Deicide, Malevolent Creation, Possessed and the thrash metal old school like Anthrax, Sodom, Kreator, Tankard, Demolition Hammer, Sepultura it’s a big part from us and Slayer that’s the influences that we have.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
This is an interesting Question, but the answer is yes, this requires a lot of sacrifice in terms of rehearsal time and practice with your instrument, plus there are already many bands around the world, so you should always be updating and looking for ways to make it not only the music that speaks, but also how you manage to reach the public.
Necro Edder (Bass and Vocals)
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Dam this is so hard to describe but, at the moment only we have a performance show that we only painted in black our face and arms and chest simulating the after of the disaster, totally dirty, it’s not like the corpse paint like the blackers use, it’s just the dirty face after the disaster, we want a smoke machine, simulating an aura of death in the environment.
Alan Rojas (Lead Guitar)
What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
Two of our members likes AI and the other Two doesn’t like, I think that the AI makes easy the creates of the music and loses all the essence of composing with your musicians, so I'm against the AI productions.
Saul (Rhythm Guitar)
What attributes do you think that a new Death/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Be unique.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Death/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
This is a new era, so we need to use all the resources that we had on our hands and the streaming platforms is the new way to give our music around the world, the old times gets the exchange with other musician around the world, today we had Spotify YouTube and others streaming platforms, so we think that’s the best way to make yourself known.
Ismael Ayala (Drums)
From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell to a new Death/Thrash Metal band to avoid or what to do?
First makes your own music, create demos or E.P. and then send it at streaming platforms, and then create a little fan base with your music, play in all shows if you had the opportunity and lie we say here on Mexico “the best way to make yourself known” that means, a hard work hard study from your bass, guitar, drums, vocals ETC that the best way to do something.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Mexico (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
In Mexico we had a big scene from the underground, every one of them has a lot of potential to makes a great work, every one of that great bands have the rage and the anger to place his music on the metal history, and we have fanzines like Trono de ratas, El chuapacabras. And the same bands make a little fanzineMetal clubs are great, it’s the ideal for the Mexican people, and the new bands.
What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
The metal music is the best way to show your energy to an other people that’s does metal means for me:
1. Obituary- Frozen in Time
2. Obituary – Cause of Death
3. Obituary- Inked in Blood
5. Slayer- Reign in Blood
6. Slayer- South of Heaven
7. Malevolent Creation- Warkult
8. Toxic Holocaust- An Overdose of Death
9. Demoltion Hammer- Skull Nightmare Fracturing
10. Vio-lence- Eternal Nightmare
And I have more but I think that’s the most representative albums on myself and the work with the band.
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not really at all I know only 4 bands and i nothing more.
What are your future plans?
Still working on new material, I think to create a possible split with other Mexican bands or other bands around of the world. And them playing on the Maryland death metal fest on EU, that a big dream to be in that place.
Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work!
