Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about DISGOAT (Members, Starting Year etc).
Disgöat is a continuation of a project I had back in 2018ish called Warhound. I'd say Disgöat started being a thing at around late October 2025, I had some material ready from way back and some other material that I was writing for one of the bands I play in that didn't really fit their style. So I was like why couldn't I just do a solo project with the style I want? So far Disgöat is a one man fiesta but I'm almost done finalizing things with 2 other twisted lads to help with gigs, recording drums and lead for my next release.
You have recently released your single ''Devil's Delight''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
I have had good feedback from the underground scene here in Egypt (most of them are my friends anyway so they're probably just flattering me). And so far no one lashed out and mobilized the mobs to lynch me (not yet atleast). Devil's Delight was featured on No Gleaming Light!! Thanks to the amazing Greg Biehl! And the single was also featured by @2WorldsMetal an amazing Tunisian metal related content creator. They've also been helping me with info on promotions and shared one of the demo reels I posted some time back.
The cover artwork has a great atmosphere! Tell us a few things about it.
The cover is a visualization of sin and how enticing and deadly she can be. It was done by the amazing Osama AlShannaf who I'll hopefully work with on all of my upcoming releases.

And what about the lyrics?
First track of the release "Devil's Delight" speaks of how quickly you can descent and spiral in sin having your life under its control (in a fun way ofcourse). Second track "Vermin" is a reimaging of plagues as an attack by hell on earth and the vermin, pest and bearers of plagues as chaotic evil fuckers that aren't necessarily aligned to hell, just happy to spread death and chaos.
Are you in searching for a record label? What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
I love doing things DIY. Working on your music, battlevests, instruments, tapes and what not truly embodies the spirit and individuality of metal. But I'll be looking for a record label as I have a giant release lined up soon, with most of the material ready (around 12 ready demos and 3 that still need work). I'd be able to record it and setup merch without help but the issue mainly is distribution outside of Egypt. I'd be able to source good quality CDs, Tapes, Shirts and Patches locally at minimal costs but I wouldn't be able to send them outside of Egypt without the shipping costing a leg and an arm.
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
One of the upcoming tracks for Disgöat was inspired by a funny incident that happened to me and my bandmates from Hëllridër. We were on our way back from a rehearsal and some random homeless guy on the street stopped us and said in Arabic "Do you need any sluts?", We laughed our asses off and I said in formal Arabic as a jest after "Slut Conjurer" which I then wrote a track about that talks about a vagrant trying to get you to hook up with demonic entities.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I love how Vinyl and Tape look and sound. But I also love the availability and convenience of Digital copies.
Your music style is Black 'n' Roll. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Oooh boy I love all the bands that play Black Speed/Black'n'Roll. But I'd say my main influences in Disgöat would be Motörhead, Midnight, Joel Grind's Yellowgoat Sessions. and on the side of punk/dbeat Discharge and Amebix. But I generally listen to and love all types of subgenres not just speed and dbeat.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I wouldn't call it a sacrifice but you have to have consistency with practicing on your technique and writing even if you're not planning a release. Treat it as if it is going to the gym to stay fit and sharp. And you need to manage your time around work and your social life to have that (which sometimes feels like hell). You also have to spend a shitload of cash on gear I would say that's the bigger sacrifice hahahaha.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
I love the feel of low stages where you're right in the face of the crowd. Yes but not as Disgöat yet.
What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
I hope Suno's data centres burn to a crisp. When I write a song and record a demo for it, there is this insane surge of dopamine that happens. Because of the fulfillment you feel when you finish something that took effort that you like. But for the people writing and producing with AI, what the hell are you getting out of it? I wrote a command on my keyboard and made a song? That doesn't do anything for you just learn to play an instrument to be able to actually express yourself.
What attributes do you think that a new Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
People just get stuck on what would other people think. Just don't overthink it and play whatever you feel like playing mix anything with anything without worrying yourself with "Oh will people think that these elements fit together?". Just stick true to yourself and do what you enjoy. I wouldn't say Disgöat is the most original band ever, It's not even the most original band from the bands I play in. But I'm doing what I love and getting a sound that I'm enjoying and that's what truly matters.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Yeah digital platforms are the most important thing to utilize for promotions right now. I think you first need to build a local presence: Socialize with other musicians in your scene, give out freebies, try to get some gigs going. Then you would have content that you'd refine for these digital platforms like Instagram for example and slowly build an online presence that could translate internationally not just locally.
From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell to a new Metal band to avoid or what to do?
Never say no to any gig. Don't isolate yourself from other musicians in your scene. Don't rush your visual content, Be it social media promotions or artworks. Don't rush signing with a label.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Cairo, Egypt (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
I'd say it is being revived right now. We had a period of time from around 2016 till 2025 where the scene was almost completely dead but right now new bands are coming up like Hëllridër, Infexion, Dashiem, Obscured Violence and Anemoya. some older bands are making a come back like Hathorious. Lots of gigs lately too and more venues are starting to accept metal bands again with lots of new faces attending those gigs.
What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
Metal and music in general is my favorite form of art and self expression. Music isn't just sonically pleasing but it also has you visualizing and imagining the scenery that you're listening to as if you're reading a book but your ear is also enjoying said book. Top 10 albums is a really hard question and it honestly depends on my mood but I'll try my best.
In no particular order:
Motörhead - Ace of Spades
Venom - In Nomine Satanas
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Bathory - Self Titled
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses
Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
Hellhammer - Satanic Rites
Mgła - Exercises in Futility
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Onslaught - Power From Hell
Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Flames the thrash band are really wicked. I also like the band Necromantia and the album "Thy Mighty Contract" by Rotting Christ. I'm not gonna lie I'm not really knowledgeable about the Greek scene. But I love Greece as a country and history, have always had it on the list of countries I want to visit.
What are your future plans?
Right now I'm planning to get ready for a gig next month with Disgöat where we'll play the 2 released tracks and 3 others from the upcoming album, Then I have 2 EPs with 2 other bands to record. After that I'll start recording "Filth, Rot and Rock'n'Roll" a full length for Disgöat which will be out within 2026.
Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
