Interview with ATONEMENT

!!!HELLISH THRASH METAL FROM SWEDEN!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about ATONEMENT (Members, Starting Year etc).
Atonement started with Mille and Ludvig knowing each other and both having the passion for good music. Atonement saw it's first light during the autumn of 2020 when Mille and Ludvig got together and wanted to start a band. The search for members started and on the 1st of December they found Niklas who joined as a bassist. That was the first lineup of Atonement.

You have recently released your EP ''Merciless Blasphemy''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback has been great! We have gotten great response from fans and fanzines!

Label or DIY and why?
A "free" and "flexible" label would be the best option we think. We haven't had that much experience with labels so far so it's a tough question to answer.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Vinyl and tape all the way. To listen to those to gives more of a feeling listening to it. CD's are also great but not as great. Digital format's are great too but it's a really bad way to support the bands, a good digital platform is bandcamp. There the fans can show support and that's great for the bands.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
We are really inspired by the German thrash/speed scene that was going on in the 80's, bands such as Kreator and Sodom are some to name.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Time is needed when your in a band and also money. So you need to prioritize a lot.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
A great venue would be a small venue where you could get much contact with the crowd. The perfect lineup would be some great bands like Deathhammer, Vampire, Antichrist or Nifelheim.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Great Attitude and great music.

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Bandcamp and digital platforms would be a great starting point to gain contacts in the metal scene.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Sweden (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We have some great things here in Sweden, some things to point out would be the band Eternal Evil which we know really good. a great Fanzine is Black Pages which promotes the good bands in the scene here. A great metal club/ venue is Klubb Fredagsmangel which translates to "Friday mosh" helps a lot of good bands to get heard and seen.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not that much, that's something we will lookup.

What are your future plans?
Play more gigs and maybe release something.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
