Interview with PROPHECY

!!!DANISH THRASH METAL!!!

We had a conversation with Nikolay Atanasov (Guitars). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about PROPHECY (Members, Starting Year etc).
The band was formed in 2016 by me. Currently the lineup is:
Vocals - Wags Wagner (from 2019)
Guitars - Nikolay Atanasov
Bass - Nicklas Karstensen (from 2016)
Drums - Miroslav Slavov (from 2018)

In 2019 you have released your album ''Mental Punishment''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Both of our albums have always received great feedback, which is amazing, because we have never focused on properly promoting the releases. But yeah, both audience and press have given us a great feedback. Thanks to them for the support!

Label or DIY and why?
Prophecy is signed to Metal Domination Records.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Our albums have been only released on CD so far. Hopefully soon we will release them on vinyl and tape as well. Personally I love vinyl records, so this is probably my biggest goal for Prophecy as far as formats.

Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
We are huge fans of American thrash metal. Early Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Forbidden, Heathen etc. etc.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Personally I think that a successful band can only be such when you put everything you have into it, and most importantly, you love doing it. That way even sacrifices are not felt as such, but instead everything feels right.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Unfortunately Prophecy hasn't played as much as I wish it has. But the ideal live show is definitely 2 things for me - a good and professional setup (so that all the musicians are comfortable to deliver their best possible performance), as well as an awesome audience, and the latter is the most important!

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think the key is to just write music that comes out of your heart and soul and create a concept for this band in the same manner, regardless of the style you choose.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
I do think that they work well for promotion, which is very important. The internet in general is great for promotion, this is perhaps one of the best things about it.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in the Denmark (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There are cool bands for sure. Not as many old-school ones as I wish, but hopefully this will also change in the future. There are great fanzines and webzines as well as great clubs!

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Of course! Definitely a lot of cool metal bands down there in Greece.
I can think of Spitfire, Flames, Firewind, Suicidal Angels, Bio-Cancer, Chronosphere, but there's definitely a lot more!

What are your future plans?
For now I am more focused on my current band Agent Steel! We'll see if Prophecy will do something new in the future...

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you for having me and thanks to all the fans! Keep supporting metal!
