Interview with PANZERGOAT

!!!BLACK NECROPUNK FROM RUSSIA!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Hi!

Tell us a few things about PANZERGOAT (Members, Starting Year etc).

Everything started in 2012.  At first it was my two-person side project.  One wrote the lyrics and yelled in some of the songs, but I did the rest.  This lineup made the Nunfukk demo.  After a few years, the guys in my main band (Rage In Silence) wanted to play that kind of music. This is how it all began.

In 2020 you have released your album ''Selfdestruction Anthems ''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?

If we are talking about our audience, then they are quite positive. For several years of underground concert activity, we managed to recruit a small horde of fans, some of whom travel to our concerts even in other cities. As for the reviews about the album, there will always be a lot of both positive and negative. There are few indifferent. The press reviews keep us moving on. At this stage, it suits us.

Label or DIY and why?

I think the more options, the better.  Physical media is a pleasure to hold in your hands, whether the label was made or you made it. Fans will be saturated with your aesthetics in one way or another. Digital distribution is also needed. Allows you to draw new adepts into your sect, with minimal costs for them.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

I'm getting to know new bands or albums in digital versions. If I like an album, I will certainly try to find discs or cassettes.  I like vinyls, but with my lifestyle it is unrealistic to collect them.

Your music style is Black Metal with Punk elements. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

Panzergoat is a tribute to the metal music of the 1980s and 1990s.  Most likely sources of inspiration are Impaled Nazarene, Darkthrone, Slayer, Motorhead and Pungent Fucking Stench.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

To sacrifice anything is violence against oneself. I believe that a group needs harmony in the life of each individual musician. If there is harmony, then sacrifices will be made to you, but not you.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

There is no limit to perfection. There were both successful and unsuccessful shows... There were no ideal ones yet, but we are striving for this.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

Lack of genre stereotypes. Let me give you one example. I'm not a fan of NS ideology or anti-fascists, but I can swear with a can of beer that there is no more brilliant group in modern black metal than Peste Noire. They have no boundaries ... There is a desire to play insane music. That's fucking great.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

I'm sure that any means are good to achieve your goal. Earlier, I already indicated that for a beginner group, digital platforms are an inexpensive and effective way to attract an audience. If this is combined with bloody sacrifices to the Horned Lord of Darkness, the effect will be gorgeous. It's joke, man.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Russia (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

The Russian underground scene miraculously survives under the persecution of politicians, religious fanatics and the police.  If earlier only NS concerts were banned, now any metal events are under attack.  Nevertheless, metal music lives on.  There are a lot of interesting teams and projects, if we list them, then we will not limit ourselves to a thousand names. But the scene in Russia is lively and quite multifaceted.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

Of course. I can't calculate the degree of underground of bands like Necromantia, Rotting Christ, Septicflesh... for me it's a kvlt. Since 2014, I have been specifically stuck on Aenaon.

What are your future plans?

We are planning to conquer the universe. Let's hope you are with us.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.

Thank you for attention.  Listen good music only and Panzergoat. Our lord need your blood.
