Interview with NOCTURNAL THRONE

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about NOCTURNAL THRONE (Members, Starting Year etc).
The band started in May of 2025 and was founded by Darvaza, Nekro and Rotting Raven. The band members are: Zaphyrous Frosteh in Vocals, Rotting Raven in electric guitar, Chronovore in electric guitar, Nekro in bass and Darvaza in drums. Nocturnal Throne is part of the Black Moon Legion!
You have recently released your EP 'Eternal Katharsis'''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback has been great from the audience I will say and we haven’t seen any reviews from the press, not that we care that much to be honest.
And what about the lyrics?
The lyrics touch diverse themes. But I will say that behind all of our lyrics there is a philosophy that connects all of them. That is to seek freedom and knowledge without limits in darkness and in the occult arts. Following this philosophy it is natural to us thathe abrahamic religions are enemies to what we seek and what we stand for, so our lyrics touch anti-religious and blasphemic themes as well.
Are you in searching for a record label? What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
We are starting our own label Black Moon Productions so we can have total freedom in the business and the artistic choices. Black Moon Productions will only release elite material from the Black Moon Legion.
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Not that I remember, maybe the fact that in our rehearsal place there is a lot of paranormal activity. We rehearse in an abandoned house but I will not enter in details.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I will say CDs, they are cheaper than vinyls and have better sound quality although I will say that I like every physical format.
Your music style is Black Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Mainly Pentagram era Gorgoroth, early Mayhem, A Blaze In The Northern Sky and Under a Funeral Moon by Darkthrone and Bathory.
Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I have not sacrificed anything in my life for the band and I will say that nobody in the band has done such a thing. We are very structured in everything we do.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Black candles, barbed wire and rotten meat. Our debut show is soon and maybe some of those things are going to be on stage.
What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
Garbage.
What attributes do you think that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Having a fuck off attitude, total despise for all humanity and worship the path of obscurity. That's all you have to do in order to be a true Black Metal band, not only in the musical sense but in the philosophical aspect as well.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Absolutely. With digital platforms it is easier to spread your music and it is easier for people to find your music as well.
From your experience in the music industry so far, what would you tell to a new Black Metal band to avoid or what to do?
Never sell your art to capitalists labels and scumbags! Black Metal is against this world and everything that is human.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Chile (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Lots of great Black Metal bands have been coming from Chile recently. Bands like Endless Invocation, Umbria, Oblivion, Teste tenebris, Wulffengard, Zwehainder (War Metal) and many other bands keep alive the true flame of the underground.
What does Black Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
Black Metal is beyond the music itself. It’s a philosophy that is based on misanthropy, intolerance and rejection of everything that is human! This is a personal list so it doesn’t reflect the opinion of all the band:

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Of course, Rotting Christ, Varathron and Necromantia are classics of Black Metal. Non Serviam is one of my favourite records as well. Other great bands from the Hellenic scene: Astarte with the record “Doomed Dark Years”, Macabre Omen, Nocternity, Cry Of silence and Sad with the record “A curse in disguise”.
What are your future plans?
We are writing more material, so maybe another EP or a full length.
