Interview with MINDSET

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about MINDSET (Members, Starting Year etc).
Thanks for having us guys! We started as a crossover thrash band in very late 2018, with just Ethan on guitar and vocals, and Oz Slater on drums. After a while we started playing a more traditional style and met out bassist Jarrah Farkash. That band fell apart, however there's a new lineup in the works right now!

In 2021 you released your demo ''Killing Spree''. What was the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
People seemed to really love our first demo, which really helped us, and we hope to get the same, if not bigger, response from our audience!

Label or DIY and why?
Originally we were on unholy coven, an incredible label, that I cant recommend enough, however now were on my own label, Speedhammer Records, this is because I wanted to put out other peoples music that I enjoy!

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I'm a vinyl maniac personally, but as of right now, Mindset, and Speedhammer in general, will only be on tape and digital!

Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our influences are Megadeth, Exodus, Toxik, Queesnryche, Venom and Motorhead, which is our favorite.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Sacrifice is an important part of a band, Alot of time, effort and ALOT of people will try and mess with You and your music.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Wales (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Some bands I LOVE from wales are Verletzen, Lichaway and Madicide, they are all incredible and all great guys! Theres also Speedhammer and hopefully soon, a fan zine!

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
As for the Hellenic scene I'm not too up to date on that haha.

What are your future plans?
Future plans are to put out music in the near future, tour and be the best band we possibly can.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thanks for having us on guys!
