Interview with HELLEXITER

!!!BLACK THRASH METAL MANIACS FROM POLAND!!!

We had a conversation with Jagermeister (Guitars). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about HELLEXITER (Members, Starting Year etc).
HELLEXITER was founded in late 2023 under the name XANAX. At that time, we were playing Thrash in the style of Havok, Overkill or Power Trip with the current vocalist (formerly a drummer). It didn’t work out too well for us because we were really shitty at the time. Our paths diverged, Tomek (ËVILSLAUGHTER) founded his Deathrash band, and I was looking for people to play with. So in June 2024, together with LÄSTSLAUGHTER and BLÄSTBUSTER, we started playing Black/Speed. That’s how HELLEXITER started! Currently in HELLEXITER we have me (JÄGERMEISTER - guitar parts), Tomek (ËVILSLAUGHTER - vocals and bass) and Kuba (BLÄSTBUSTER - drums).

You have recently released your demo ''Krwiopijca''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The opinions about our demo are usually positive. The only bad words are about simple riffs.

Label or DIY and why?
We made DIY demos on tapes, but we are writing material for an EP for which I am looking for a publisher. I think a publisher will help us a lot. First of all - promotion, the possibility of making merch.

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
We have some funny stories like for example that at our first gig we were totally wasted. When we played the song Black Speed Mafia we could barely stand on our feet. The drummer of the band Sexmag came on stage and poured vodka in my face. I thought I was going to die then. Our previous bassist who played that gig with us (ZÜBERMANIAC) fucked himself backwards onto the bass amp at the end. When we recorded the demo in the basement of a mate, we were also drunk and pretty stoned. That’s why it sounds the way it does.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We prefer tapes and CDs because we can’t afford vinyl 🤣

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
First of all, the good old Kreator, Destruction, Nocturnal, Nifelheim, Tormentor and Gehennah.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
I think that above all a large part of private time should be devoted to focus on the material. If your life is metal and you want to do it, and for example your woman forbids you, then you have to choose between one and the other. So far the only thing I have sacrificed for this band is time, nerves and money.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
It's a tough question, but I think that a full house with the audience killing each other is a dream come true.

What attributes do you think that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Above all, to some extent, trying and showing yourself in a good environment with good people. If you make good music, someone will definitely notice it. As for originality, it is incredibly difficult at the moment. It is difficult to do something that no one has done before.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Applications like YT or Spotify will not help such bands develop to a large extent because no one knows new bands, so to listen to them on such platforms, they have to get to know them first. No one types random names into Spotify or YouTube to find a new band. I think that the fastest way to develop is not to play concerts or shit out material all the time. The best way is time and persistence. You have to wait, show someone who knows a lot of people. If they like it, I will show someone else and so on.

What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
When I first heard metal I got hooked right away, I was fascinated by this fast and powerful music, but as a child I only listened to it with my Dad. Now metal is my life, every day I wake up and see posters, memorabilia from concerts on the walls in my room. I don't remember when was the last time I didn't listen to metal. For me, the albums that make me melt are: Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time, Slayer - Show no Mercy, Oz - Fire in Brain, Tank - Filth Hounds of Hades, Kreator - Extreme Aggression, Kreator - Pleasure to kill, Destruction - Infernal Overkill, Dio - Holy Diver, Kat - Metal and Hell, Turbo - Kawaleria Szatana.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
From the Greek scene I only know Asakta, Eldingar and Dark Affliction.

What are your future plans?
Play a good gig with a cool band and record an EP.

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work!
