Interview with GRAVEWITCH

!!!BLACK/THRASH METAL FROM THE USA!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about GRAVEWITCH (Members, Starting Year etc).
Gravewitch is a Blackened Thrash Metal duo based out of Oregon, USA. Formed on November 2nd, 2013. Line up includes Chris Fleming (Guitar, Vocals, Bass) & Andrew Ingraham. (Drums)

You have recently released your album ''The Summoning''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
So far " The Summoning " has been released for 17 days. The feedback we have received in person and through our social media platforms has been positive and constructive. Everyone who has heard the album seems to enjoy it so far.

Label or DIY and why?
For " The Summoning " we released the album by ourselves, considering we were not signed at the time. We had just recently signed with Misanthropik Records, USA who are going to be helping us release our Sophomore album in the future.Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We use any format available, because we have a wide variety of followers who listen to music on various platforms.

Your music style is Black/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Some of our favorite artists and influences include: Kreator, Testament, Amon Amarth, Immortal, Wolves In the Throne Room, Vader, At The Gates, Slayer, & etc... Too many to list.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
We are not entirely sure what bands should sacrifice, because every band has to sacrifice something different to get where they are at. Every band is different. So far, we have sacrificed lots of free time, family time, and money. We enjoy the band life. We don't consider it a sacrifice, we consider it a privilege.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
We have experienced both good and bad live shows, but our ideal live show would be anywhere that has enough space for a stage and crowd, and good sound.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Black/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Originality, elements of Thrash Metal, and elements of Black Metal in their sound.Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Black/Thrash Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Considering the way the world is, Bandcamp, YouTube, Spotify, and other digital streaming platforms are the best way to promote and reach people.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Oregon, USA (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The Underground Metal Scene in Oregon is almost non-existent. The only continuous places running shows in Oregon are Southern Oregon and Portland.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We know very little about the bands that make up this scene.

What are your future plans?
Our future plans are to keep writing new music for our upcoming albums. We have recently finished writing our second album, and are working towards recording and releasing it as soon as possible. At this point in time we will not be playing any shows until after our second album is released.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Will do! We would like to thank the Filthy Dogs of Metal for taking the time to interview us!! We would like to thank all of our family, friends, and followers from around the world for supporting us and our endeavors!
