Interview with CREATURE

We had a conversation with CREATURE. Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
1. Tell us a few things about CREATURE (Members, Starting Year etc).

We're a thrash metal band from San Diego. We were founded 2019. Our first album is "Sinners Are Winners. The members of the band are Christian (founder of the band, rhythm guitarist, and vocalist), Ryan (lead guitarist), Alejandro (Bassist), and Chris (drummer & vocalist). Chris has had more experience in different bands and different genres. He's the band's organizer.

2. You have recently released in your Bandcamp page 3 rought tracks. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?

After every performance people from the audience come to us tell us we sound great and they hope to hear more from us in the future. As for the press, since we're an underground band not much of our work is noted by them.

3. Label or DIY and why?

D.I.Y., for now. We plan to get signed by a label in the future.

4. Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

We prefer all of the above, each format has their own benefit.5. Your music style is Speed/Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

The genres that influence our style is 80s thrash/speed metal and heavy metal. Bands that influence us are Metallica, Sepultura, W.A.S.P. and Nuclear Assault.

6. Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

They should be willing to give up school, work, and unnecessary people. Some of of us have sacrificed a stable future, time for other projects, work hours, and family time.

7. Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

Full audience participation which we haven't experienced yet.

8. Which attributes, do you think, that a new Speed/Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

Signature sound, strong stage presence, creativity, and originality.

9. Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Speed/Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

We believe it helps because word is able to get around easily and quickly with no problem. Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp, and YouTube are the most ideal digital platforms to us.

10. Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in San Diego, California USA (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

The underground Metal scene in San Diego has much to be desired. Many of the people in the scene aren't true and blue to the scene, many being posers or people that aren't very crazy about metal in general. There are barely any metal bands in San Diego. Sadly the scene is dominated by Indie kids.

11. Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

We know only a few bands in San Diego from that scene.

12. What are your future plans?

Future plans are to get play more shows, release our demo E.P., get signed by label, and travel the world.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work!
