Interview with CHAINBREAKER

!!!AUSTRIAN SPEED THRASH METAL!!!

We had a conversation with Chris & Stefan.Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about CHAINBREÄKER (Members, Starting Year etc).
Started in 2015, reduced from a 5 piece to a 4 piece after the demo when Chris took over vocal duties.

You have recently released your album ''Relentless Night''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?
The first few reviews from the press sounded good and we got a lot of positive review from our audience. Some of them mentioned that we don't stand for innovation but never claimed to do so.

Label or DIY and why?
We've done both.We chose to release our second album via a Label because we wanted to focus more on the art than on distribution and these kind of things.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Most of the band are Vinyl Collectors because of a much more conscious music listening experience. We also like tapes but also take CD's for Road Trips. And of course the digital Format is easy when you want to check out something new.

Your music style is Thrash Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Slayer and Exodus of course. Then obviously Sodom, the earlier Kreator albums and early Sepultura. Also Bands like Exciter and Razor but also Motörhead or even Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
What does succeed mean in the underground metal scene? We love every moment spent on progress with the band so it has nothing to do with sacrifice.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
To play live again at all would be our ideal live experience right now!

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Thrash Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
There was no approach to be unique. We just wanted to worship the music we love and pay tribute to our heroes while going even faster, heavier and more vile.

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Thrash Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Of course they can help to reach out to new people but that whole internet promoting thing is not really our cup of tea.We still think the best way to promote your band is playing live shows.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Austria (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
Until the pandemic struck Linz (Steel City Sorcery) was pretty much the capital for Austrian Underground Metal for us.We hope that the underground will rise again when live shows are coming back.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Not too much to be honest but the first Suicidal Angels Records kill and we already shared the Stage with Released Anger in Munich.

What are your future plans?
To get back onstage again to celebrate Relentless Nights! And always keep writing and playing faster and heavier music!

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Throw your Barstools to Chainbreäker or go fuck yourself.
Have a nice day!
