Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about BOODROOM (Members, Starting Year etc).
Hails! We are Boodroom a Black Metal band from Greece formed in 2025. Boodroom started as another type of metal, with a different name and a different line-up . Due to some difficulties, only 3 members out of 5 remained, and that's when we made the decision to change the genre and the name. So we came up with “Boodroom”, and we’ve decided to make Black metal, with the line-up we have created now. The line-up of the band is: Hells preacher on vocals, Impaler on lead guitar, Demoniac on rhythm guitar, Witchra on bass and Hammerhead on drums. The name "Boodroom" comes from the word «μπουντρούμι», which translates to dungeon or an underground cell.
You have recently released your EP ''Inside The Boodroom''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Our EP has been out for about a month and we have received positive reviews from the public, and various articles on the internet. We have received a lot of support and they seem to really like what we do.
And what about the lyrics?
Through our dark lyrics we try to create a mysterious atmosphere, which will make the listener think, and decipher their meaning. There are various themes in each of our songs.
What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
Both sides are equally important. A record company is essential for the physical release of music to the world, offering various ways of listening. On the other hand, the DIY culture is equally valuable, as it keeps the magic of making something with your own effort alive.
Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
The recording of the vocals on our EP was done in one day, as a vocalist I couldn't smoke or drink during the whole day..as soon as we finished recording I came out of the studio and after a while the other members told me that the files were lost and that we had to start over. (I had already downed half a liter of beer and smoked two or three cigarettes..) I almost lost my mind. Anyways, I felt so relieved when I realised it was just a joke.
Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I appreciate both options equally. On the one hand, I prefer physical formats because I like the feeling of holding my own music in my hands. On the other hand, digital media is great, as it makes music much more accessible to people who don't have the chance to buy physical copies.
Your music style is Black Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our songs are mainly based on black metal, but they have heavy metal influences as our lead guitarist (impaler) also plays in the heavy metal band «Mallevs» and is the main composer of Boodroom. I (Hells preacher) as the composer of "A Thousand Black Nights" am influenced by the second wave of black metal and in this song there are clearly many Darkthrone elements. We have taken inspiration by bands such as Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, and Venom.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
It is certain that sacrifices are needed for a good result. Personally, we sacrificed a lot of our free time, jobs and classes, and the only thing that is certain is that we had to spend money.
Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
A dark atmosphere, spikes, leather, candles burning, instruments on fire, pure fucking energy in the pit.
What do you think about the rise of AI in music production?
I strongly disagree with the existence of AI in music, it is impossible for something inanimate to ever replace the human mind. Music is not music if there is no emotion.

What attributes do you think that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
To achieve something like this, you definitely have to not follow any stereotypes, just because you're going to do something different doesn't necessarily mean you won't succeed. It sometimes gets boring to copy what a million metal bands have done. It goes without saying that you have to stay original in something like this, but it’s always about the smallest things. Unique song themes, a unique appearance, a special live performance makes it unforgettable and directly gives uniqueness and identity to the band.
Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
Digital platforms definitely help, because nowadays social media is the main way to promote a band, and to be heard around the world. However, doing live shows helps a lot in promoting your work.
From your experience in the music industry, what would you tell to a new Black Metal band to avoid or what to do?
The most important thing in a band is that you enjoy, and have fun in what you do, every band has its own way of working, and what it considers good and what not. I can't give any advice other than my support.
Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Greece (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
There is still a big underground scene in Greece and it has been going strong for many years, and there are many new bands that give hope that the metal scene is not just gonna die. People are very supportive of new bands and that’s what matters, that really means a lot.
What does Metal means to you? And give us 10 metal albums that run in your veins.
Metal has taken over a large part of my life, it «runs» through my veins, and it’s a part of my everyday life, whether I work on it or listen to it with whatever I do. Some albums that run through my veins are :
1. Slayer - Hell Awaits
2. Running Wild - Gates To Purgatory
3. Venom - Welcome To Hell
4. Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales
5. Mercyful Fate - Melissa
6. Dissection - Storm Of The Lights Bane
7. Sepultura - Morbid Visions
8. Rotting Christ - A Dead Poem
9. Burzum - Burzum
10. Judas Iscariot - Heaven In Flames
What are your future plans?
We are currently working on new material, and we’re definitely looking forward to doing live shows soon.
Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you for your time and your interest, and also thank you Filthy Dogs Of Metal for giving us a change to talk about our band. What comes next is inevitable, stay tuned!
