Three minutes!!!That is all you get from this split between DISFIGURED HUMAN MIND and AGATHOCLES. One minute and thirty seconds from each band, and then it is over.….hahahaha!!!!!That's the Real stuff!!!! Released back in October 20, 2017 as HMR083, ''Raw Noises Anti Status And Mainstreams...'' and it was limited to only 250 numbered cassette copies. There were five different cover colours, with 50 copies of each colour, and every tape came with an A4 poster. So even before putting the tape on, you already know this is a small underground release made for people who actually collect this kind of stuff. DISFIGURED HUMAN MIND take Side A with “Raw Microbiologic Noise Diseases.” The session was recorded on August 31, 2017 at Graveyard Farm Studios in Holland by Cadaver Panáfernalicus and Cadaver Efermus. There is no song structure to worry about here. No intro, no build-up, no nice little ending. Just noise, distortion, screams and broken sounds thrown together for ninety seconds. It feels more like someone switched on a machine that was already half destroyed and decided to record the result. Then you turn the tape over and get AGATHOCLES with “25 Hits About Sweet Mincing Honey.” (WOW what a title!). The music was recorded much earlier, on June 28, 2014 in Geel, Belgium, by Jan, Koen and Nils, while the vocals were recorded three years later in Sluiskil, Holland. That gives the track an interesting history, even though the final result is only ninety seconds long. And of course, this is AGATHOCLES, so there is no reason to expect anything clean. Their old-school mincecore approach fits perfectly here: distorted guitars, rough drums, angry vocals and a very simple approach to grind. The two sides sound different, but they work well together. DISFIGURED HUMAN MIND are much more focused on pure noise, while AGATHOCLES bring their raw grind/mincecore sound. Both sides are short, ugly and completely free of unnecessary bullshit. What I really like about this tape is that neither band tries to stretch the material. They could have easily filled both sides with ten-minute noise tracks, but instead they give you ninety seconds each and stop. Three minutes. Done. It is also the kind of release where the physical edition matters. Five different cover colours, only 50 copies of each, an A4 poster and a tiny running time make this feel like a proper underground tape rather than just another digital release. ''Raw Noises Anti Status And Mainstreams...'' is not something you put on when you want to sit down and enjoy an album. It is a quick hit of raw noise and mincecore, and then silence. Dirty, short and completely underground. Exactly how it should be.
