ANONIMUUS CREATURE - DISSECTING THE MORBID UNDERWORLD OF MY EXISTENCE

Country: Netherlands
Year: 2024
Label: Murder Records

''Dissecting The Morbid Underworld Of My Existence'' is the 2024 release from Dutch noise project ANONIMUUS CREATURE, and it is almost 52 minutes of harsh, ugly and very uncomfortable noise. Four tracks, all long, all dark and all made to sound as unpleasant as possible. The release carries the catalog number HMR162 (Hail my necro-brother Danihell!!!)  and was recorded in June 2024 at Junkie Noise Studios in the Netherlands. The four tracks are “Hellish Noises From My Horrendous Subconscious,” “Reborning In A Monstrous Filthy Underworld,” “Dissecting The Morbid Underworld Of My Existence” and **“The Depths In A Disgusting Abyssal Pathology.” And these are not really songs in the usual sense. The first track lasts almost 15 minutes and throws you straight into a wall of harsh noise. There are no riffs to follow and no real structure to grab onto. Just distortion, strange sounds and a constant feeling that something is wrong. “Reborning In A Monstrous Filthy Underworld” goes on for more than 13 minutes and keeps the same approach. The sound is heavy, slow and uncomfortable, with long sections where the noise seems to just sit there and wear you down. The title track is the longest piece at almost 17 minutes. This is probably the point where you either get what ANONIMUUS CREATURE are doing or simply turn the tape off. It is repetitive, dirty and very minimal, but there is something hypnotic about the way the sounds slowly change underneath all the distortion. The final track, “The Depths In A Disgusting Abyssal Pathology,” is shorter at just over seven minutes and closes the tape without suddenly becoming more accessible. It stays dark and noisy right until the end. The project describes its own style as “Catatonic Obscure Funeral Harsh with Suicidal and Morbid Noises from Hell,” and honestly, that gives you a pretty good idea of what you are getting. There is no attempt to make this sound like normal music. The artwork also fits the release very well. The layout was made by Alemão and uses images from Shinya Tsukamoto's Tetsuo: The Iron Man, which is a perfect match for the strange and uncomfortable atmosphere of the tape. The physical edition is also seriously limited. The regular cassette was released in only 15 hand-numbered copies, with another 10 included in the special Hellpack edition. So this is very much an underground collector's release rather than something produced in large numbers. What I like about ''Dissecting The Morbid Underworld Of My Existence'' is that it does not try to pretend to be anything else. It is harsh noise from beginning to end. No riffs, no hooks, no clean production and no easy way in. You either let the noise take over or you don't. For people into harsh noise, funeral noise and the more extreme side of underground music, this is worth checking out. For everyone else, well... good luck making it through all 52 minutes....hahahaha!!!
