Interview with POISON DAGGER

!!!SPANISH HEAVY METAL ATTACK!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about POISON DAGGER (Members, Starting Year etc).
We are a heavy metal band from Spain. The project started in 2018, in 2019 we managed to complete the band with stable members and record our first album that was released in 2020. Poison Dagger we are Jack Steel (vocals, guitars), Nadal (guitars), Brais Rose (drums) and Iago Pena (bass).

You have recently released your EP ''Looking For A Fate''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
People who like classic heavy metal usually have very positive reactions when they hear our work.Label or DIY and why?
''Looking For A Fate'' has been self-released, but we have a distribution agreement with Metal On Metal Distribution who have helped us a lot.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
We have no special preference for any specific format. Obviously we believe that the idea of having tapes and vinyl is very romantic, but we like to use the latest technological advances to make our recordings. There will likely be Poison Dagger material on tape and vinyl in the future.Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our influences are the most obvious, we are people who have grown up with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath ... etc. It is also important to note that we like to listen to more underground bands both old and current.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
In the case of a band of these characteristics, we don’t believe that it is a question of succeeding or not. The objective is to move the band forward in order to show our artistic expression. When you have a band that you care about, you make sacrifices for it without thinking and without problems.Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
If we describe that, we would occupy the entire interview but we can say that we would like to have a show with shock rock influences. We believe that it is something very important and when we can go out to play live we will do the best possible show within our economic possibilities.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
The hard part is making the band work as well as being original. When you do such a specific style, the band starts from a pre-designed base to which more influences are added. Those extra influences will make the band unique as well as turn it into shit or something really good.Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
We believe that all presence on the internet is important both on large and small pages. We want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have been concerned about sharing our work, interviewing us, leaving comments and helping us reach more and more people in one way or another.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Spain (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
In the part of the country where we live, extreme metal predominates, although in the rest of Spain we believe that this is not exactly the case. This year we had the pleasure of participating in the compilation Spanish Steel Attack IV together with other bands of our characteristics from Spain and South America.Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
We can see that there are numerous platforms on the internet, bands and labels from Greece. All of them are very specific and of great quality. Once again we want to thank this opportunity to have a presence in Greece because we believe that it is an important country.

What are your future plans?
We are currently planning new strategies adapted to these times. We are clear that the band will continue whatever happens.Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours
Remember Poison Dagger as a heavy metal band that was born to live long. Thanks for your time.
