Interview with UNISEX

!!!NORWEGIAN HEAVY METAL!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about UNISEX (Members, Starting Year etc).
Unisex started out in 2019 as a way of crushing all weak music. The powerhouse consists of the mighty Max Confidence on vocals, the sweeping Proto Pick on lead guitar, the quaking Thunder Hammer on drums (known as the drummer of bands Nakba and Nithe), the ominous Raging Rod on bass, and Fredrik.

You have recently released your album ''Unholy Moly''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
Unholy Moly is much like a lemon, since it seems to leave people with a sour taste in their mouths. The reception has been lukewarm at best, but we'd be lying if we said we've gained many fans from it. Quite the contrary, actually. Anti-Unisex-mobs have even formed within the band.

Label or DIY and why?
DIY because no label is stupid enough to sign us.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
The members of Unisex only use wax cylinders, which is by far the most authentic and true way to listen to music.

Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Our main influences are The Beatles and Darkthrone.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
No one in the band would sacrifice anything for Unisex. If you offered me a beer to leave the band, I wouldn't even hesitate.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Our ideal live show is one where the audience doesn't realize that we're using playback. Since none of us can remember any of the songs and are bad at miming, we've frequently experienced being thrown out of venues.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
They should probably switch genres if they want to be unique. We have considered becoming a jazz-rap group to harvest what little creativity is left within our empty minds.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
We just found out about the Internet last year, so I'm going to say Google.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Norway (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The new underground metal scene was amazing. So many filthy bands that manage to be original while paying homage to the legends of old. The quality fell a few notches around 2019 for some reason.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Yes, there are a bunch of emo bands that sound very depressed. We're mailing a care package down to you this instant with blankets and hot chocolate.

What are your future plans?
We're going to cash in on the Unisex t-shirt trend.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thank you for reading about us. Buy our album so that we can pay rent.
