Interview with ROCKHARD

!!!HEAVY METAL FROM NORWAY!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about ROCKHARD (Members, Starting Year etc).
Rockhard began in early 2022 by El Diablo, the guitar and vocalist, and Gravlös, the drummer, even though many riffs and songs are from before 2022. Rockhard consists of yeah El Diablo, Gravlös, Hellchaser, and Dr. Hertz decibel.

You have recently released your demo ''HardRock''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
The feedback hasn’t been much from the audience, but we have had a lot of feedback from our Marshall amps when we play. We don’t have audience.

Label or DIY and why?
Do it yourself because no label wants us.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
I prefer tape, but I don’t have a thing to play the tape on, so I don’t have a CD-player either or a vinyl-player, so I use the format that I like the least which is digital høhø.

Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
Main influences are Storm from Norway (from the 80s, not the 90s), and Metal Rats, basically.

Which things do you think a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your Band?
You should basically sacrifice your love life, because it’s non-existant if you’re playing in a heavy rock band. Yeah.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
It’s a place in Southern Norway called Lyngdal Kirkesenter, which is basically the place in Southern Norway where a lot of evil music is being played.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
I think as long as it’s heavy metal and that you put your whole soul into it, that it’s good enough, then you’re unique, you know it’s høhøhøhøhø I’m gonna have a shot of Minttu. Yeah, that’s really what I think.

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Digital platforms is okay, but I think the best way to promote is really by playing concerts, yeah, that’s really everything.

The last 2 years worldwide we have faced many dark, strange & new situations with our everyday life (covid, lock-down etc.) Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
Oh I think COVID was a pretty good thing because then we had all the time in the world to sit and make great heavy rock music, so I think COVID was a good thing for very many bands which had time to make cool music.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Norway (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
The underground metal scene in Norway is not very big, but it’s a lot of cool bands. I will say one of the best is Haalbuaer, which is a really really active death metal band.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
The Hellenic scene has a really unique sound which I appreciate, and I love a lot of the old Hellenic metal releases. Especially old Rotting Christ is pretty cool. Yeah. Høhøhø. To be honest, I know very little of the Hellenic scene, but I believe that it’s cool.

What are your future plans?
Future plans is to make lots of money, get record company, oh it rhymed, and we ehh just have a really good time with family and friends during the holidays.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
It’s only one thing to say, but it’s in Norwegian, and that is it’s only 3 things in life that matters, and it’s jenter, øl og heavy rock (girls, beer and heavy rock).
