Interview with EMERALD EYE

!!!HEAVY POWER METAL FROM THE USA!!!

We had a conversation with Nolan Weber (Drums). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about EMERALD EYE (Members, Starting Year etc).

Emerald Eye started in late 2019 by Brett Scott, Nick Poffinbarger, Alex Moran, and myself Nolan Weber! I worked with Brett and Nick previously in 'Vanlade' and had also worked with Alex in our Nebraska band 'Relic', so I was excited to work with this crazy ass lineup!

You have recently released your demo ''DEMO 2021''. What is the Feedback from your audience as well as from the Press?

From what I have seen, people have been enjoying the hell out of it and it makes me reeeeeeal happy! That 'NWOTHM Full Albums' page on Youtube put us up and people from all over seem to be digging it. I've seen some people say some things about the production quality, but it was just a DEMO and it was our first time recording ourselves!

Label or DIY and why?

We would love label support one day but have no issue doing it ourselves until something cool comes up! We are very self motivated to write and record badass heavy metal to represent the midwest!

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?

I can't speak for everybody on this one, but CD seems to be best bet for me. I and everybody else owns more CD's than anything else and they're not going away anytime soon. Vinyl is cool but often times a bit expensive to both make and buy. Tapes rock for how long they can last but can be hard to find systems that even play them anymore! Despite my love for CD's, there is no arguing that digital format is the go-to nowadays because of how instantly accessible it is.

Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)

We look up to and are mostly inspired by Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Crimson Glory, Lost Horizon, and Dio!

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?

I sacrifice a lot of free time and money to buy gear and to play with multiple bands, and have for many years! Although, I don't see it as a sacrifice. I got nothing better to do but play sick heavy metal with my homies!

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?

Great monitors, great lights, and a crowd full of drunk people head banging! However, that has yet to happen due to Covid-19.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?

Stop using fake drums and studio magic and go back to the sound of when folks were simply good at their instruments!

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?

Hell yes I do! Almost all of my bands have used Bandcamp for a very long time and they've been helpful for a easy to find site to find and purchase stuff from us.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Kansas City, Missouri, USA (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)

Things aren't very active right now here in Kansas City due to Covid-19 and I don't know of any heavy metal bands in the area doing anything besides us.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?

Never heard of it!

What are your future plans?

Keep writing and pumping out more glorious heavy metal!

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.

Stay tuned for new updates every Tuesday when we get together to see what we are up to! Cheers, and stay heavy!!!
