Interview with EISENHAND

!!!AUSTRIAN HEAVY METAL!!!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.
Tell us a few things about EISENHAND (Members, Starting Year etc).
Servas! Eisenhand consist of 5 members, namely: IRON HERV (vocals), J. Meindlhumer (Rhythm guitar), Adam Torpedo (lead guitar), Fabs (bass) and Domaniac (drums). The Band was formed in the dungeons of Linz, the only true steel city in Austria, end of 2017.

You are going to release your album ''Fires Within''. Tell us a few things about this project.
The first step with this project was made in the beginning of 2019 when we tried to record it all by ourselves, like our first Demonstration tape. After a short period we had to realize that we have to take this scheme to a proper studio. We found ourselves in the hands of friends from our guitarist Adam Torpedo. The recording process went well and our first studio experience as a whole band was a pleasure.

Label or DIY and why?
We really like the DIY attitude and as far as we are able to, we want to do it ourselves. But for our first album we faced the fact that it is much more comfortable to have a Label, because no one of us likes to do bureaucratic shit. We want to focus solely on the Music. For „Fires Within“ we found a great Label, Dying Victims Productions and we are stoked about the release. Flo is a great guy and we are glad that we can work with him.

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
Everyone in the band prefers Vinyl and Tapes. Digital format is also cool, because it rules to listen to your favorite songs everywhere. CDs are also fine but we all started buying music when the analogue formats had their comeback, years ago.

Your music style is Heavy Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
NWOBHM, early Swedish Heavy Metal, Gotham City, Manilla Road, KAT, early Slayer.

Which things, do you think, a Band should sacrifice in order to succeed?
Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future of your Band?
Weekends and great expectations.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance Band. Have you already experienced that?
Fire, fog and sweat.

Which attributes, do you think, that a new Heavy Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
Playing the music you like and staying with the feet on the ground. Don’t try to be someone else. It’s a genre were everything has been said since thirty years.

Do you believe that Bandcamp and other Digital Platforms help the new Heavy Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a Band to promote its work?
Yes of course, it’s the digital stone age we live in. On the other hand a lot of good bands and projects won’t get the attention because we get flooded with a shitload of shit bands.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Austria (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.
The Austrian underground scene is not that big but a few things are going on in some spots of the Country. Regarding Linz, Steel City Sorcery reignited the fire. Everybody of us is somehow entangled in this entity and we are now doing shows for almost 5 years. And the feedback was and is great. Over the last years a great community was the product of our relentless assault on eardrums and livers. Cool bands: Küenring, Venator, Kringa, Hagzissa, Deathstorm, Triumphant, Transylvania, Death Racer, Parasite Dreams.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
Flames, Vice Human - good bands! And one of us wanted to visit the Up the Hammers festival, to punch John Cyriis in the face.

What are your future plans?
Working on new releases, playing live.

Thank you very much for your time & Keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
Thanks for the interview.
